Day 5 in the Classroom

Period 3 / 3-D / Wire Sculptures
Find a photograph of insect and create sketches in journal.
Grading of journal/sketchbook must include:

  • Requirements
  • Thumbnails
  • Refined drawing with measurements
  • Reflection
  • Artist artwork research
Period 4 / Pre IB - 9th grade / Drawing
9/17 10 Value Scale - 50 points
9/22 Project 3, Value Shading in a Complete Composition with full value scale - buy pencils
Reteach - proportional sketching, composition (size of the objects), objects in foreground will be larger and smaller in the background.
"I think therefore IB". LOL

Period 5 / Photo I & II, AP, IB / 40+ images
In sketchbooks fill the pages up with words. Write in complete sentences. When writing break it down like a diary/journal, writing makes you think and how it influences you in the future. Express yourself. When grading the journal student will bring journal up to the teacher's desk to look at the jpegs (3 photos for final) in their final folder on the monitor. Student will open the journal where they will have written what effects they used on the photo and whether they liked it or not.

Research Workbook Outline Information

The following information should go with your investigation workbook design. 
  • Proper heading for each and every page (i.e. Project 1, Print 1, 2, 3).
  • Date should go in upper, outer area of page.
  • Page number should go in lower, outer side of page.
  • Fill the page with your information.
  • Write about the following for each project:
          *  Project Requirements
          *  Project image information for each of the three images. What did you do to the work and      
              why you chose to do what you did to the work.
          *  Did you look at any artwork (or methods of art making) that applies to your subject, idea,
              etc.
          *  Cite your work.
          *  Reflection on what you did and how it turned out.
          *  Overall notes from project such as photoshop notes, techniques, discussions.

Front page (cover) should include:
  • Full name
  • Course name
  • School year
  • Designed neatly and graphic
